DRAWING tremendous support from its wildly-cheering hometown crowd, the Pampanga Dragons refused to fold up in the face of a serious Negros Slashers performance to annex the first-ever Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA) na- tional finals at the Pampanga Convention Center recently. The Dragons, who opened the championship-series with a 95-94 heartbreaking overtime defeat to the Slashers at the University of St. La Salle gymnasium in Bacolod City. stormed back from a huge 16-point deficit, thanks to the herculean effort displayed by the trio of Renato Agustin, Angelo David and Gherome Ejercito en route to 89-85 decision, ending the finals, 4-1, in their favor.
