About his 'discovery,' Coach Villegas stated: "The first time I save Erwin play in Cebu, I knew right there and then that I was sering an honest-to-goodness po- tential. He has the height, the built and the skill. He has a healthy attitude towards the game. He gives in to instructions and is a fast learner. He is dedicated and is not a big head. He still considers him- sef a pupil in the game. The one year that he was under me, I didn't have any complaints about Erwin, M-future ang batang iyan, huwag lang magbabago."
From Coach Rivera: 'His im- provement is tremendous. And to think that he still has two years to play in the juniors after this season. And he is still improving fast, and growing fast. I think I have a goldmine in the guy. At saka mabait ang bata. No com- plaints. Laro lang ng laro, sige ng sige. Me ibubuga talaga."
In four outings, Erwin has a shooting average of 33 points per gime. He made 20 against San Sebastian, 23 against La Salle, 61 against Trinity and 28 against San Beda.
