REED JUNTILLA
Pure shooters don't come often, so PBA teams that are looking for them should set their sights on this Visayan scoring ace. He is a good marksman who can change the complexion of a ballgame with his potent outside shooting. Yet aside from his offensive arsenal one good thing that is working for him is his experience and veteran smarts. The former University of Visayas standout stayed long enough in the PBL to polish his skills and expand his basketball knowledge. Those things will serve him well once he steps on the PBA floor, where hardened veterans await to challenge him no end. In his final PBL conference, he emerged as the league's number 2 scorer (15.5 points per game), behind Pera Padala's Ken Bono. He also contributed 3.1 APG for his team. REED HAD HISTORY OF "DISAPPEARING ACTS" IN THE AMATEURS BUT HE was still given a chance by Red Bull, which plucked him from free agency entering the Fiesta Conference playoffs. He made a good impression in three games he played, prompting the team to sign him to a lengthy contract. Alas, Juntilla went AWOL a few days after signing the deal. With skills similar to those of Cyrus Baguio, the Cebuano put in 7.3 points, 2.3 assists and 2.0 rebounds in his brief engagement with the Barakos.
