MARLON LEGASPI
Born April 14, 1977/ Sto. Tomas, Pampanga / 6-5/forward
Coming out of an astounding amateur career, the lean 6-5 forward was a big disappointment as San Miguel's first-round pick in the Rookie Draft two years ago. Nothing much changed when he hooked up with Shell. The one-time PBL MVP was deemed too soft to bolster an undersized TurboChargers frontline in need of some toughness. His stint with the team turned out even much shorter than the one he had with the Beermen, playing for just 19 games before heading to the dispersal draft by season's end. .A sensational season in the Philippine Basketball League catapulted Legaspi all the way to No. 8 overall in the draft ahead of eventual top rookie Jimmy Alapag. He was picked by San Miguel to bolster its frontline, but his lean built was a disadvantage as he competed for minutes against the likes of Dorian Peña, Nic Belasco and Danny Ildefonso. Legaspi suited up in 21 games, averaging 2.7 points and 2.1 boards an outing.
