ARMANDO TORRES
Born April 12, 1952. 6-1, 165 lbs. Guard.
MICAA fans will remember Mando as a Golden Banker from 1973 to 1976. In 1977, joined Crispa and was given enough exposure plus confidence by coach Baby Dalupan to let him play in the big games. Has hustle and single-minded determination. Also played for Araullo High, Feati University and Yutivo. Has an agile body that can adapt well to most plays. Needs staying power, however, and more force in playing style. In his third season with Gilbey's/St. George, Mando enjoyed playing with teammates whose style he was already familiar with, an important asset for a guard whose basic task is to set up plays for his team. In a quintet which doesn't have any superstars, he is doing his share averaging 5.14 points a game as well as coming up with timely assists, rebounds and steals.
