Nieto finally had the chance to flaunt his wares in the PBA as he joined NLEX in the Governors' Cup, but didn't really have an easy introduction as he missed two crucial free throws that led to the team bowing to Magnolia. Rather than be downed by the situation, he slowly rebuilt his confidence and even put up 19 points against Ginebra in Game Two of the semifinals, putting whatever early pains behind him and establishing himself as a keeper for the Road Warriors.
