His offensive style reminds one of the PBA's top gunner, William Adornado. No wonder because. Ray's idol has always been the great U-Tex star. And just like Bogs, Ray played for UST where he made his mark as a distinguished amateur player highlighted by his inclusion in the national team to the 1978 World Basketball Championship. The 5'11" PBA sophomore is a streak shooter, scoring points with deadly accuracy from 20-25 feet out in the classic two-handed jumpshot. Ray is also a great fastbreak receiver, owing to his speed and catquick reflexes. Seasoning in defense will certainly give the 26-year-old Obias more playing time in future conferences.
