HE made quite an impression in his first college season with Far Eastern, but his amateur career was mostly one of ups and downs, and strange turns. His career did take a turn for the better when Pop Cola, badly in need of a big man to shore up its decimated frontline, went for the 6-4 Batang Pasig in the first round of a relatively shallow 2000 rookie draft.
