The first Crispa-Toyota brawl happened in 1975 and led to Toyota's Oscar Rocha being suspended for 6 months. But the worst one was in 1977, when both teams figured in a melee after the game near the dugouts. It was so bad that the Metrocom came in and picked up the players for questioning.
They were jailed for a night and forced to share the same cell block. They were finally released through the intervention of then-Commissioner Leo Prieto, who promised to then-Metrocom Chief Prospero Olivas that the league would take charge to ensure that it would not happen again.
