Birthday Greeting to Sir Elmer Reyes ( Dec 31 )
1. Birthday Greeting to Sir Elmer Reyes ( Dec 31 )

A LOT OF STRONG POINTS ARE GOING FOR HIM. HIS AGE. HIS HEIGHT. HIS DETERMINATION. IF ELMER IS GETTING THE EYES AND THE INTEREST OF THE FANS, IT IS BECAUSE HIS IS TALENT WITH A CAPITAL "T."
There's a new guy who has become the apple of the eyes of a lot of amateur basketball fans. His name is Elmer Reyes, a MICAA rookle playing for Presto Fun Drinks, who, no doubt, has earned respect on the scene to be billed as the league's next most Important shooting star. There's a lot of strong points going for him. His age is one. He is only 20. And his height. He is 6-2. And If Elmer is getting the eyes and the interest of the fans, it is because his is talent with a capital T. One of the nine children, seven girls and two boys, of Pablo and Adela Yeban Reyes of Wawa, Nasugbu, Batangas, Elmer's rise to a very promising seat on the MICAA hardcourt was more expected than not. As a San Beda Red Lion in the NCAA, Elmer played with bearing even when his team was lorded by veterans.

For three years, he was coach Bonnie Carbonell's no-nonsense wingman, delivering when important moves were "Maliit ang gustong Ibigay." Elmer, who played for one year with the La Salle Greenles, is a product of public school education Iri elementary. "Diyan ako lumaki sa Pasay," he said. If he makes it to this year's RP youth team under the same coach who opened his eyes to serious basketball, Elmer will be most elated..
