AURELIO JALMASCO
Aurelio Jalmasco has had his ups and downs in the PABL. He, however, says that he is happy with his reunion with coach Joe Lipa. Two years back, when he was still with ESQ Marketing, Joe Lipa was his mentor. The Merchants won two championships under Lipa. Previously, ESQ won a title under Chuck Berreiro, After Lipa left ESQ, Jalmasco was shipped over to ERDC which disbanded after the February Revolution. From there, the 5-11 Jalmasco proceeded to Purefoods Corporation and after a tournament, he went to Philips where he was reunited with Lipa. Born in Sorsogon, Sorsogon, Epoy is the fifth of ten children (Rico, Susan, Donato, Raul, Epoy, Raffy, Jojo, Nora, Eleanor and Joel) of Telesforo Jalmasco and Celeste Japson. After completing his secondary education at the Qurino High, he underwent training at Southwestern University. Later, however, he stopped schooling and played one and a half years with Mama's Love under Jun Noel, After that, he returned to Manila and enrolled at the SanSebastian College where he dribbled in the Intercollegiate tourney under coach Orly Castelo. From there, he went to FEATI and spent three years, with the Hi-Flyers in the MMUCAA. He was named Most Valuable Player in the 198384 season. His coach was Domingo Cruz.
