Note : THE
64th season of the UAAP has formally started last Saturday what an awesome opening we saw! This year's host, Far Eastern University, should have every reason to be proud of this year's event as it tried to feature simply the best from each participating university. Relatively, most of the teams have new faces, and really exciting lineups in terms of fresh rookies whom we be- lieved were scouted pa from far places of the country. The production expertise of ABS- CBN's Studio 23 justly added the texture we all are looking for a quality view- ing. Said company vowed to air every game 'live' and that in itself is a very effective merchandising tool to generate wider viewership. In fact, the opening salvo among the teams that played after the formal cer- emonies was an affirmation of the fact that UAAP is indeed the most-sought- after basketball league in the land. Kudos and big congratulations to the organizers, the UAAP Board, the host university and of course those univer- sities that play real basketball!

Champion : De La Salle University
Runner-Up : Ateneo de Manila University
