Note : Defending champion de la Salle Green Archers played true to form by blasting per- ennial tailender National University, 91-61. Zandro Limpot and Johnedel Cardel paced the Archers with 16 points each.
The Archers are eyeing back-to-back titles. They beat the Far Eastern University Tamaraws in last year's finals to win their first-ever title since their admission into the UAAP fold three years ago.
Aside from Limpot and Cardel, six other Archers have seen action in the Philippine Basketball League (PBL) and this definitely gives La Salle the edge as far as experience
is concerned.
These PBL veterans are Teddy Monas- terio, Gelacio Abanilla, Richard Bachmann, Richard del Rosario, Eddie Viaplana and Jonas Mariano. The Archers are coached by ex-national mentor Derrick Pumaren.
