Note : Host FEU took the entire crowd for a ride in a Time Machine when the 56th UAAP opened last Saturday at the Araneta Coliseum. The opening ceremonies traced the evolution of Philippine sports from primi- tive times to the present, and the FEU dancers--all 300 of them--regaled the crowd with their colorful costumes, props and plumage. Deftly executing dances within dances, they ran away with the audience's collective imagination. From the tribal hunt to the javelin throw, from "agawang buko" to volleyball, from an awkward "sipa" to the modern thing, from trying to seep who could run the fastest to today's slick track events, talented FEU dancers dazzled the crowd with their artistry and kept them enthralled with the presentation's fascinating story.
