Note : The height factor was very evident and proved to be the key for the winning teams during the inaugurals of the 55th University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) basketball tournament at the Araneta Coliseum last Saturday. Host University of Santo Tomas had some scary moments but leaned on the experience of Rey Evangelista and National Youth shoo-in, Dennis Espino, to turn back University of the Philip- pines, 66-58. Adamson University, parading four giants 7-0 Edward Jo- seph Feihl, 6-9 Marlou Aquino, 6-5 Giovanni Pineda and 6-5 Pastor Luna - made mince-meat of Ateneo, 76-62. Far Eastern University found much promise in 6-5 Alejandro Paguinto, who coming in to replace Victor Pablo, ran rings around perennial tailender National University, 108-69. La Salle banked on pro-bound Zandro Limpot's 30-point per- formance to demolish a small but hard-fighting crew from the University of the East, 93-82.
